Law Enforcement Explorer Program
The Law Enforcement Explorer Program recruits students between the
ages of 14 and 21 who have an interest in law enforcement. As a Law
Enforcement Explorer, you can learn about law enforcement and assist
deputies with a variety of non-hazardous assignments such as: Search
missions, crowd assistance, station support, crime prevention,
training, report writing, public fingerprinting, and bicycle
licensing. You may also ride-along in a patrol car with a deputy
sheriff and see the rigors of the job first hand.
Explorers also go on outings and tours. They compete against other
Explorer posts in a number of law enforcement situations
(scenarios). They experience camping trips, boating, river rafting,
trips to the beach, and many other adventures.
If a student wants to get a head start on their law enforcement
career, than this is the place to start. To be an Explorer, you must
have an interest in law enforcement, maintain a “C” average in
school, have good moral character, be a leader, and be willing to
follow the directions of other Explorers and Deputy Sheriffs.
If being a Law Enforcement Explorer sounds like something you would
like to be a part of, stop by the Industry Sheriff’s Station and
pick-up an application. If you have any questions, please contact
Station Explorer Post Advisor Deputy Jim Bickel at (626) 934-3315. |
