Kempo Program

Shorinji Kempo is not only a martial art, but it is also a registered religion in Japan. Shorinji Kempo emphasizes the importance of physical, mental, and spiritual training by unifying one's mind and body. By practicing Shorinji Kempo, one can develop inner strength and discipline.

There are four key elements of training:

Goho Techniques - "Goho" refers primarily to strikes, kicks, hammers, and sashes.

Juho Techniques - "Juho" are techniques used when in contact with an opponent. Techniques such as: Defensive forms, releases, joints, reverses, throws, and pins.

Seiho - Health promotion through the prevention of illness or injury by understanding joint and pressure points of the body.

Zazen (Meditation) - Establishment of spiritual and mental development through zen meditation, creating the ability to seek a justifiable, yet peaceful solution without harming others and/or self.
